NORTHCHURCH BAPTIST CHURCH. A major refurbishment of this 1910 building was carried out in 1999, involving the removal of built-in pews, rearranging the porch area and the replacement of solid front doors with purpose-design glazed ones. A new underfloor heating system, new lighting and a cT4ombination of permanent and moveable fittings were installed at the same time.

MEDICAL CENTRE, LUTON & DUNSTABLE HOSPITAL A major enlargement of the Hospital's Post-Graduate Medical Centre, which provides training and study facilities for medical staff, both from within and outside the Hospital. The enlarged accommodation enables nurse training to take place at the Centre, as well as enhancing existing facilities.

NEW PHARMACY, TRING. This new building houses a pharmacy associated with the adjoining Rothschild House Doctors’ Surgery, with a self-contained flat above. Constructed on a tight site on the edge of the Surgery car park, the building abuts an existing Victorian terrace. At the Planning stage, the local authority’s Conservation officer commented that “while the design breaks some of the rules for providing new development in keeping with its surroundings, this is an innovative approach for a building of this era….and will fill an unsightly gap in the street frontage.”
LEAVESDEN ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH, WATFORD. A major refurbishment of this Victorian and Edwardian church complex was carried out between 1993 and 1996. Work ranged from new kitchen and toilet accommodation through to an upgrading of the sanctuary involving an enlarged platform, new lighting and sound systems, and opening up the entrance porch including glass doors. Robert Thompson was responsible for this project while a partner in a previous practice, Rickaby Thompson Associates.
